Sowing Recommendations

Amaranth is a thermophilic (heat-loving) crop. Sowing should begin once the soil temperature reaches +12°C to +14°C.

• Sowing Rate:

  • Row spacing 45 cm: 1.5 kg/ha

  • Row spacing 70 cm: 1.0 kg/ha

• Planting Depth: 1–2 cm (must be sown into moist soil).

• Plant Density: 8–10 productive plants per linear meter.

Applications

1. Food Industry: Production of gluten-free flour, bakery additives, and cereals.

2. Pharmaceuticals: Extraction of amaranth oil rich in squalene and antioxidants.

3. Livestock: Used for green fodder, silage, pellets, and grass meal. The biomass is exceptionally rich in easily digestible protein.

Storage Conditions

To maintain high germination rates (valid for 3–5 years) and nutritional value, follow these guidelines:

• Seed Moisture: Max 10–12%.

• Temperature: Store in a cool, dry place between +5°C and +20°C.

• Ventilation: Ensure the storage area is well-ventilated and protected from direct sunlight.

• Packaging: Use breathable paper bags or natural fabric (cotton/jute) sacks.
